Style Guide Examples

On this page are a few examples from the style guides, tools, and process documents I created.

These samples highlight my ability to develop clear and effective resources that streamline workflows and ensure consistency.

They also demonstrate how I apply my instructional design skills to create resources for fellow designers.

Scenario Blockbuster (Excerpt)

The Challenge:

Instructional designers often struggle to build compelling scenarios, leading to dry and ineffective eLearning.

My Solution:

I designed the Scenario Blockbuster tool to assist IDs. It guides designers step-by-step to craft a story with characters and a meaningful decision point, helping learners apply what they've learned and use their new skills on the job.

Development Process:
eLearning Modules (Excerpt)

The Challenge:

New instructional designers struggled to get up to speed with our workflow and project management tools.

My Solution:

I developed a comprehensive guide that consolidated all process information into one place. This included clear steps for Monday.com, project timelines, and file management tips. The document quickly brought new team members up to speed and gave the entire team a single source of truth for our design process.

File Management in SharePoint (Excerpt)

The Challenge:

When we introduced new file naming conventions, team members needed a clear way to understand and adopt them to maintain consistency across all projects.

My Solution:

I designed an instructor-led session and created detailed graphics to simplify the new conventions. These resources were integrated into our style guide and process documents, ensuring that every team member could easily access and follow the standards.

Writing Bullets

The Challenge:

With over 120 eLearning modules and sessions, our team lacked a consistent approach to writing bullet points, which impacted the clarity and professionalism of our deliverables.

My Solution:

I developed a set of clear guidelines for writing effective bullet points. These standards combined my professional experience, industry best practices, and research into a single resource, ensuring all team members could create consistent, high-quality content.
